Born in Dakar, Senegal, Yannick immigrated to the United States with his Family and has been in the country for over two decades. He earned his associates degree in Business at Montgomery College followed by earning his bachelor’s in business management from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2016.

Yannick is a professional in the finance industry with a passion for making homes accessible, finance understandable, and putting solutions at an arm's reach for the most vulnerable in our society.

While at the University of Maryland, in 2015 Yannick co-founded the UndocuBlack Network, a non-profit organization that works to allocate resources to Black and Undocumented immigrants in the United States. During his five years at UndocuBlack, he served as the Co-Chair and Head of Finance and Operations working to establish the non-profit network from the ground up. He also developed policies, budget, vision, and infrastructure to ensure sustainability of the organization.

In 2016, Yannick began his current career in housing finance working to make housing more accessible. He is passionate about business and investing in his community to make it a better place for everyone. This along with all his experience is the reason Yannick wrote, "“doundale!”: A Guide For Black Immigrants Navigating Money And The System In The United States." This book helps readers understand how Black immigrants can manage their personal finance, so they not only survive but thrive.
